About me

I'm Mark McLoughlin — a classically trained artist and former feature animation specialist now focused on oil painting. For over three decades, I worked as a senior illustrator and animation artist on beloved films like Thumbelina, Anastasia, Titan A.E. Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, and Prince of Egypt, and later helped build the illustration system at LinkedIn Learning, scaling visual storytelling for thousands of educational courses.

My foundation in classical animation, honed at Ballyfermot College in Dublin, instilled in me a deep appreciation for gesture, line, and story — qualities I now bring into my fine art practice. Today, I explore landscapes, abstraction, and mood through oil on canvas, drawing on years of visual storytelling to create work that evokes emotion and atmosphere.

While my tools have shifted from animation desks and digital palettes to brushes and oils, my passion remains the same: creating images that connect, endure, and speak without words.
